Hi I'm Angelica Chapman, a health and wellness advocate committed to helping others improve their lives and develop healthy living habits. I first developed an interest in health and wellness as a young girl, and during high school, I studied to become a certified nursing assistant before attending North Carolina State University. When I found out that I had high blood pressure, I grew curious about why I had this diagnosis and learned inexpensive ways to support a healthier lifestyle. Over the last two years I've read hundreds of medical journals and articles discovering simple ways that may help reduce your blood pressure. You can read the article(s) by clicking the link below. Bonus: I share my experience with trying out these suggestions.

My Experience: My Mom introduced me to lemon water in my early twenties. Around that time, I found it hard to accept the taste of it because I loved lemonade. Now that I'm not a fan of lemonade because of sugar having negative effects on my body. I have tried lemon water for its benefits but I don't enjoy it as much as lime wedge juice in my water. However, I love to add organic lemon juice to my tea and both of these methods have been beneficial in reducing my blood pressure.

Your Gut Microbiota Helps To Regulate Blood Pressure And Digestion

My Experience: As you recall, in my Instagram Live, my doctor was concerned about my gut health when he diagnosed me with High Blood Pressure. He strongly suggested that I get control of my gut bacteria. So with his recommendation, I went to the pharmacy and purchased the liquid drink that helps you release poop and was committed to eating more leafy greens. The first week was painful because my guts were so backed up and toxic. At one point the pain was so concerning that the doctor had to scan me (via ultrasound) to see what was going on inside my guts. He confirmed that my gut is recovering and the discomfort was due to the process. My blood pressure started to drop once I combined it with walking and making sure I was getting enough sleep. Now, I can feel the glory of having a healthy gut! My energy levels are better than coffee and I am more in-tuned with my body.
